Muladhara - the base/root chakra/chakrum
My birthday was on June 6th and, this year, to celebrate, I decided to throw a Muladhara party. Ostensibly, the party was to celebrate my birthday. However, for me, the party was really a celebration of my family and friends, the mula (root) dhara (support) of my life.
I threw my whole heart and soul into the plans and preparations for this party. Mario and I cleaned and organized the house to optimize the energetic flow of love in our home. We shopped for the food and beverages that would communicate feelings of camaraderie and contentment through the art of gastronomy. I cooked dhal and ghee rice and had biryani catered to showcase the muladhara of my MotherLand. I brewed chai and whipped up mango lassis so my friends could suckle (my) Mother's Milk.
Mario and I had invited friends of ours who lived in the area, including neighbors and children of all ages. Part(y) I focused on children and childhood, with fingerpainting, games and pinata popping...presence and presents!
Part(y) 2 focused on food and libations, story-sharing and merriment.
Time marches on and all good things must come to an end...and thus, my Monumental Momentous Muladhara Magic concluded...with a picture of Mario and me at the conclusion of the party (taken by the last guests to depart, dear Debbie and Steve):
Since I had such a wonderful experience planning, preparing and producing my Muladhara party, I decided to extend the vibrations to the entire month. I made plans to hang out with friends who hadn't been able to attend the party - going on hikes, meeting for lunch or tea or dinner, babysitting....
And my nuclear family had had a rendezvous planned for Yellowstone Park that fit perfectly with my desires for continued Muladhara Celebrations. Mario and I drove from San Francisco, my sister and her husband drove from Minneapolis, my mother and brother flew in from Albany, New York, and my father flew from Salt Lake City, Utah, where he had been attending the Rotary International convention (as a matter of fact, Mario and I stopped in Salt Lake on our way to Wyoming and stayed with our friend Jean's mom, Shirley, a gem of a woman, but missed crossing paths with my father in Salt Lake).
Our family energies converged from East Coast and West Coast, with energetic influences from the Heartland of America and the energetic embraces from loving friends and family who have touched our hearts throughout our lives. [I WILLed it To Be So....]
In the past, family reunions had involved revisiting and replaying old, sometimes dysfunctional, dynamics; mother-daughter disappointments, sibling rivalry, paternal needling, arguments or avoidance, etc. Not this time!
I had prepared my Muladhara so well that nothing - NO THING - interfered with Our Happy Reunion!
This Energy - My First Family Energy - has been UnLeashed upon the World - this whirled of (Y)Ours....
We are Warriors for Love and Peace and We Take No Prisoners!!
Stay Tuned Dear Hearts.

Gorgeous. What a rich view into your beautiful life. And, in celebration, I'm off to Karim's, near Jama Masjid, in Old Delhi to partake of some their fine biryani, now! Joy, Peace, and Happiness to you.
Mary (and Joyce and Praveer) – if you lived nearby, you would definitely have been on the guest list…
